Course readings and textbooks

Course reading lists

Your course reading lists can be found in your course’s Learn.UQ site or by searching your course code in Library Search.

Readings can be:

  • books
  • journal articles
  • websites
  • videos
  • newspaper articles.

They could be in print or online.

You can access online reading list items with your UQ user name and password.

Textbooks

Print

Use Library Search to find the call number for your textbook.

Many textbooks are in the High Use collection. These can be borrowed for 24 hours. High Use is available in different Library locations including the Central Library, UQ Gatton Library and the Herston Library. Check Library Search for the correct High Use collection.

Borrowing print materials

You can use your student ID card to borrow print materials from the Library. Visit Borrow from the Library for more details. You can use one of our self-service machines or visit staff at an AskUS desk.

Online

Many textbooks are available online. You can find them through your course reading list or the Library Search.

Online textbooks or ebooks have different types of access including limited simultaneous access e.g. three people using it at one time.

You may also only be able to download or print a set amount of the book.
