Welcome!

We hope you enjoy your time with us at UQ. The Library can assist you in many ways and this module will help you get started.

“I wish I’d known…”

What students wish they had known about the Library when they first started:

“….about what software that we have access to as a UQ Student.”

“I did not know that you could borrow laptops from the library until I had to for one of my courses.”

“I thought only the Central Library has printers on campus. I wish I knew about the other locations earlier.”

“I did not know that the library website helped us with our assignments with the Assignment Planner. I do not think my friends know about it either.”

“….that I could book library study spaces in advance to secure a spot during busy exam periods.”

“…..I could check real-time library space availability online before heading to the libraries.”

“….about the many facilities available within the 24/7 library spaces, accessible after hours using my UQ ID card.”

“….that referencing guides were available on the library website so you can use those to learn, rather than having to try and struggle with a new referencing style yourself.”

“….you can book appointments to view certain collections of work and archives kept in the library, such as in the Fryer Library.”

Check out this guide to find out about all of these services and resources and much more!
