Developing a quality improvement question

Learning objectives

  1. Develop an understanding of the PICO (Patient/Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) framework to develop a research question.
  2. Apply the  knowledge of your identified area of clinical practice to develop a comprehensive search strategy for exploring peer-reviewed literature, utilising frameworks such as PICO (Patient/Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) or other relevant search frameworks.
  3. Develop a search strategy to apply to research databases to obtain relevant literature to address your research question.
  4. Create a literature review that synthesises current research findings related to their chosen topic within the clinical practice area, demonstrating an understanding of how to critically analyse and interpret evidence-based literature.
  5. Evaluate the impact of quality assurance initiatives on health care delivery by critically analysing and assessing the role of quality assurance in driving improvements within a contemporary health care context.

In this section, we will explore and critically analyse how quality assurance has contributed to improvements in health care delivery in a contemporary context.

Content in this section includes two weeks of study as part of your course work.
