Add information about your book
Book information
Use the Book Information side menu to provide publication and copyright information about your book. This table describes recommended fields that you should fill out prior to publication.
| Field | Description | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Title | The title of your book. Pressbooks also offers a short title field. This allows a shortened version of your title and should be used for books with very long titles. | Recommend using title case when adding the title. Capitalise the main words. |
| Author, Editor | Authors, editor information appears on the book homepage. There are additional fields for translator(s), illustrator(s), and contributor(s). | Additional information can be added to your profile via the User side menu option including, academic title, contact information, affiliation, and a biographical entry. |
| Publisher | Publisher information. | The University of Queensland is the publisher of your book. |
| Publisher city | The place of publication. | Brisbane, Queensland is the publisher city. |
| Ebook ISBN | The International Standard Book Number is a unique identification number. | The Library can request an ISBN for you. |
| Digital Object Identifier | The Digital Object Identifier or DOI is a unique identifier. The benefits of having a DOI include greater discoverability and access to uniquely identified content, accessibility for long-term use and citation. | Adding your open access works to UQ eSpace |
| Primary subject | Adding subject headings help users find your book. | Pressbooks uses the Thema subject category list. |
| Copyright holder | The copyright holder will generally be The University of Queensland | Copyright and Creative Commons |
| Copyright licence | Creative Commons licences provide a simple, standardised way to grant copyright permissions for creative and academic works. Grant-funded open textbooks require a Creative Commons licence. | Choose a Creative Commons Licence for your book |
| Description | The short description appears on your book's homepage. This is a recommended field. The long description can be used to include further information about your book, praise, or reader reviews. |
