Events
From the curious beginner to the advanced practitioner, the Queensland AI group is for anyone interested in learning and sharing ideas in AI. They aim to run events to get people together and to support all the great AI initiatives taking place in Queensland.
Articles and research
- How AI will impact Universities written by Professor Mark Dodgson of UQ Business school.
- Dr Adnan Trakic, a UQ researcher with funding from the Queensland government for his work with AI, is going to develop a robot to detect structural faults in buildings.
- Algorithms and AI: The key to delivering better patient outcomes – Dr Anton van der Vegt and Dr Guohun Zhu from UQ’s School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering are researching how artificial intelligence-based systems can provide earlier and more accurate information.

Follow the Hacky Hour UQ group on Twitter. This group meets regularly. It is not specifically for AI and machine learning but anything related to scientific computing. It is a good place to meet other people from around the university interested in a wide range of areas within IT.
